Subject: Diesel and kerosene interchangable in heaters?

NC KS
With heaters that are designed for kerosene, can diesel be used instead? naturally, the diesel would be a winter blend. This is in farm buildings that smell doesn't matter very much. I noticed that kerosene is priced over $8 a gallon in local store.

Thanks
