Dickinson, ND | We grew oats and Trapper peas and forage barley and peas for a few years. It's hard to get the vines dried down when the crop is ready to hay (late June here) because we needed 4-5 days for drydown. It made good feed but we quit seeding it because the forage quality wasn't that much better than good oat hay. Also, at least on our land, oats for hay yielded more tons than the pea mix.
I think it would work well for haylage and it's a good "pulse" crop to grow. Also would make a good green manure but the seed was costly for us.
