SE SD | Tn Farmer how can you say you lost a chunk of change when you never had the money in the first place, you just could have gotten more for the corn, what if it was a 1.58 again then you would be bragging how much you made with a ldp, you cannot lose something you never had. I sold 67,500 bu of Nov corn for 06 at 2.16 avg, sure it was alot less then we could have had but I also remember trying to get 2.00 for new crop 2006 corn in Feb of 2006. The next 2 crops of 2007 and 2008 I have avg at 2.83, I am happy with that but I also now that I could be getting 3.60 + now. but you have to be happy with a profit. I market at least 30% of the crop an I am into 2009 at 3.24 so if it is at 5.00 in 2009 I really can't complain. Long story short you can't lose something you never had, you never had the guarantee that corn would be this high unless you had a crystal ball so take it and be happy. | |
