Subject: RE: Agleader Insight

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
The Insight is a CAN based system meaning that the display is almost always used with other modules to create a system.

You could use the Insight with the Direct Command modules and Switchbox to run the NH3 setup that you have quite easily. In fact, Ag Leader has a wiring harness that will allow the Direct Command components to be attached to your 440 wiring harness. The Greenstar GPS connection that you have for the PF3000 will plug right into the Insight harness. The Insight system would handle all the functions that you now have. The system would only have one display which would have many added features.

An alternative would be to keep using the 440 for the NH3 and use the Insight with the serial application rate module (not the Direct Command modules). In that setup, the Insight would be passing information back and forth with the Raven via a serial cable. This would be similar to what you are doing now with the PF3000 and 440.

The Insight can VR more than one product at a time. First of all, this would probably require modules for each product and secondly a "Multi-Product" unlock code. This unlock code is a "magic number" which you obtain from Ag Leader. This number is unique for each Insight. The unlock process is required if an Insight is to work with split planters or any other situation involving more than one product at any given time.

Replacing the 440 on the sprayer would use the Direct Command modules mentioned for the NH3 situation above. You would also have the option of purchasing the "AutoSwath" unlock which would allow the Direct Command system to shut off sections automatically for point rows etc. If you are spraying above 10 MPH you would need a fairly fast GPS. Under 10 MPH, a 1 hertz GPS is fine.

Seed Command is another optional module for an Insight system. Seed Command can be used to shut off sections of a planter for point rows, partial passes etc. It behaves under the same principle as AutoSwath and would require the AutoSwath unlock.

Moving the Insight to the combine will require that the sensors on the combine be replaced with their CAN bus equivalents. In the combine, the Insight communicates with three modules to perform the yield tasks. This exchange could be fairly costly.

The smoothest timing for moving up to an Insight is often when combines are traded or if you know of someone who is interested in your current PF3000 system.

The Insight is also capable of many other tasks such as: being the display for a Trimble Autopilot system, being the display for strip-till situations, being the display for dry spinner control etc. In most any situation, the Insight is the Virtual Terminal and is what the operator interacts with. The actual work of controlling etc. is really done by the modules.
