Subject: RE: Ez-steer and planting corn?????

Colby, Kansas
HP may be a little overkill, the marginal gain in accuracy for double the money is kind of a diminishing returns type deal. I would speculate that with an EZ-Steer on a 4WD you would notice no difference between XP and HP except for the extra $700 bill.

Our corn production practices are basically the same as CO Drylander's, we planted with an EZ-Steer on WAAS and were satisfied, sometimes our guess row went up to 42" and sometimes it came down to 20" but the majority of the time was right on. But again, hell were even trying skip row corn here (plant 2 rows, skip 2 rows). A lot of this has to do with personal perception of acceptable, we were pleased with the performance and will plant with WAAS again, however I have a customer who purchased 2 ez-steers from me and did not feel that it was acceptable so we moved him up to OmniStar XP. I'm not saying he's right/wrong or we're right or wrong, but we are both pleased (important from a sales perspective)

Best Regards,

Lucas
