Rice:
I had similar symptoms and 015E, along with several other codes.
The problem was in the plastic Amphenol connector (I think it is a 16 pin, of which only 7 are used) on the back wall of the engine compartment, under the engine control module. One of the Amp pins was corroded badly. I had the pin, but not the right tool to crimp the relatively heavy wire into the small Amp pin. My solution was to bypass the connector and butt connect the wires one at a time, then tape it up thoroughly. The wires are well numbered and color coded, and all were preserved across the connector, so it wasn't bad at all.
It has been running fine since the repair, but that was only about 30 engine hours ago.
I was told the larger Amp connector located on top of the air shield by the radiator can also cause similar symptoms, but it as OK in my case.
My 9600 is a '95 model.
Regards.
