Centre county Pennsylvania, USA | Interesting observation. Not sure why but our experience using EZSteer withT2 terrain comp on curved swath has been surprisingly good. Our test was done by letting EZ steer a 2000 foot curved swath with JD4430 pulling 1000 gal sprayer on grass that was to be burned down. Terrain was rolling and rough. That swath was run east-to west. Then two days later we entered that swath (using swath number) at west end, engaged EZSteer and let it steer on same swath but opposite direction. We did not 'jog' for offsetting 2 day drift. Tracks in grass were then examined for differences and found to be almost identical except they were about 4 inches apart. We assumed that was the 2 day drift. Obviously we were very pleased with those results.
One other observation, we now use the EZGuide plus lightbar, not video screen, for turning in headlands. The T2 terrain compensation has quieted lightbar significantly, it no longer responds to rough or rolling terrain. Watching lights converge to next swath seems to give very good 'feel' for when to engage EZSteer for next swath autosteering. |
