Here is a simple recipe I thought of a few years ago. The lemon juice, pepper, and carrots go really well together and it is a nice change from plain carrots or other types of carrot additions. Zesty Carrots and/or Green Beans 1 lb. carrots Green beans 1-2 TB lemon juice black pepper butter or margarine (optional) Boil carrots and/or green beans till done. Drain but leave about 1/3 cup water with carrots. Add lemon juice. Grind in a fair amount of black pepper. Toss with butter or margarine till melted. Simmer to combine flavors.
