nw pa | not sure on the best way to split them. Told one of the neighbors that my wife liked hickory nuts. He brought a couple of five gallon buckets full, no shucks all nuts. Took her most of the winter to split and clean them. Told him don't be bringin anymore. Takes way to much time away from cooking and cleaning to be crackin nuts. That and with the hurt fingers etc. not good. The nut bread and rolls have been excellent tho. | |
