Subject: RE: Terminology: What is a node?

Node is really not the correct term for what I think Gary is refering to.   The Viper spreads based on a polygon shapefile, and it has a limit of something like 1000 polygons... I don't remember the number off the top of my head.   This isn't a problem for management zone spreading, but when you generate a surface map of small cells, it can become an issue.    To help with the issue, you can set a flag in our export to bark if you are exporting a shapefile above this threshold.

There are other devices that truly have a problem with the number of verticies within the boundary of a single polygon.   In some systems, a vertex is refered to as a node.   My recollection is that this is not an issue for the Raven, but it is for something else we export to... I just don't remember right now, and I'm heading out the door so can't look.    Maybe Clint will follow up.  He writes all of our device drivers.
