Near-north Ontario, French River | Go to the grocery store and see if they will give you any bread racks, the type that are used to carry loafs during shipped. The will be approx 3ftx3ft and maybe 6 inches deep with plastic/ 'mesh' sides and bottom, they are also stackable. Dad has a favorite wallnut tree in the back yard, it will yield a couple hundred pounds of nuts in a good year. He just picks them up, spreads them in a layer on the bread racks, then stacks the racks on the porch where they dry over the winter. Bout christmas time he and mom spend hours relaxing in the kitchen, cracking nuts.
