East Central, Nebraska | i play around with this type of thing in my spare time as a hobby all the time.
to answer your question it would kind of depend on experience. you can do what you want very inexpensively and with very little subscription fees but you may need to learn some stuff about what your doing. as others have replied arduinos and raspberry pies will do the trick. another one would be an adafruit feather. i pay subscriptions to both arduino cloud and blink cloud, both are pretty good cloud services that would do what you want but there is a learning curve to it.
unless you have some programming and or electronics background those options would take some self teaching and i have found are not overly reliable.
if you want to hit the easy button, this company here" https://controlbyweb.com/ " makes it pretty easy to do in an easy package.... i haven't ordered a controller yet because i have spent a decent amount of time learning all the cheap boards and these controllers are fairly pricy but as i said its pretty straight forward. i think any direction you choose to go will have a little bit of a subscription to it if you want a cloud service with a nice user interface. | |
