Subject: RE: Ag Leader Row Guidance

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
I'm curious also. I installed Steady Steer in my combine a couple of years back. It works fine based on AB lines for soybean harvest since we plant with a 24-30 but harvest with a 35' draper. This means we have some "grace" since the head is a bit wider than needed for 14 rows.

I found that using AB lines for corn harvest didn't work as well as I desired so I purchased a Truesight II feeler system from the Headsight folks. It works well. It uses the Steady Steer motor. It is connected to the header height sensor, seat safety switch, wheel angle sensor and the row feelers. The wiring harness is quite a maze in an effort to cover a wide range on heads, combines, steering systems etc.

When switching from soybeans to corn, I need to move the motor drive connector plug from one system to the other as well as my remote engage/disengage switch.

This all works well but I would have gone with Ag Leaders feeler system at the time if there would have been one. It should be cheaper than purchasing two systems and eliminate some cab clutter. Since I have both systems now that work well I will likely stick with them.
