The problem with sending it to get rebuilt is the time involved. It’s likely to take ~3 weeks to get it back.
But that’s probably what we’ll end up doing and just have to be without the tractor for a while. It’ll be inconvenient but we’ll manage.
Im kind of surprised that none of the dealers that specialize in White tractors run a core exchange program with selling a rebuilt one, then the core gets rebuilt and put on the shelf ready to go.
I've been in the business 27 years and have seen 3 of the 2-110 in person, and depending on which pulley you have, 2 belt or 3 belt, it only fits the 2-110 and 2-88, which were kind of goofy gap models until they went to the Cummins....so, likely they wouldn't have them for that tractor if someone was rebuilding them.
Also, from someone who used to keep rebuilt ones for Allis Tractors on the shelves, most of what I had on the shelf when the inventory burned had been there for 10 years or better, and there are a whole lot more AC and Gleaner combines out there than 2-88 or 2-110's. 50 year old tractor parts don't move as fast as they used to.
At some point,
if you're gonna run 50 year old stuff, you're gonna have to wait on parts at times.Chris
