Cherokee Co., Iowa | Sally always buys a few bushels of Jonathon apples from her favorite orchard. While peeling the apples today for pies, freezing and apple sauce she decided to make some apple butter. Hadn't done this for years but after an hour of boiling the peelings and cores, running through a sieve, adding all the secret ingredients and slow boil for another 5 hours ended up with 9 pints of pretty good tasting spread.
