When i did some research the big difference was the Vevor is a smaller rod (5/8" maybe) while a tile locator will typically be 7/8" so it is rigid enough to push through corrugated tile where the 5/8" is strong enough for smooth wall sewer pipe. Also the Vevor locator reviews say that it will get you within a few feet and a Maverick should be within a few inches.
