I'm trying to get keyed power to a 7 pin plug on the JD 4640. I wired a relay to the fuse panel under the dash, but there's something I'm missing.

I have constant 12v to pin 30, ground on 85, switched 12v on 86. 87a has constant 12v like it should, but when I plug in the relay, it doesn't energize when the key is switched on, so no power to 87, which I was going to run to the 7 pin connector. The relay bench tested good. When I unplug the relay, the wires all function as they should when the key is on. Something is wrong when I connect the relay to the circuit.

I'm trying to do it the right way, but I'm wondering if I shouldn't just run a wire from switched power on the fuse panel under the dash directly to the 7 pin plug. Does anyone have any reason why I couldn't power the half width disconnects on a 1760 straight from the switched power on the panel?
