New Mexico
been taking closer to 80 though ( figured to all the extra cake feeding equiv ) the past 10 years.

Places where there is decent water generally are not developed.

Plenty of places where if one pulls a well..the casing is wood.

Seems to me like the last REAL money spent improving dirt ( by water development ) on most of this was perhaps in the late 1800's.

Whole area is used as a spot to bury big money in big land deals. Almost every Wall Streeter and Hollywood type burys some here for awhile..then sells and moves on.

Have seen plenty of deals where they come in and HAVE to spend 500 mill to 2 bill of windfall dough.
3 to 4 years later...sell it for half what they originally paid...and they still net way more on their original windfall than if they'd have tried to wash that dough any other way.
