Chebanse, IL.....

Asking for clarification....

Are you guys using the same removal rates we do in IL for your corn/beans put into strips?

The updated (2020?) values from U of IL are:
Corn
0.37 lb P2O5 per bu removed grain only = 0.80 lb Dap or triple super per bu
0.24 lb K20 per bu removed grain only =  0.40 lb 0-0-60 per bu

200 bu corn would need 160 # Dap & 80 # of K in strip
250 bu corn would need  200 # Dap & 100 # of K in strip
300 bu corn would need 240 # Dap & 120 # of K in strip
Dowdy 500 bu corn would need 400 # Dap & 200 # K

Beans
0.75 lb P205 per bu = 1.60 lb Dap per bu
1.17 lb K20 per bu = 1.95 lb 0-0-60 per bu

50 bu beans would need  80 # Dap & 98 #  Potash
75 bu beans would need  120 # Dap & 146 # Potash
Dowdy 190 bu beans would need 300 # Dap & 370 # Potash

Is this how you do your strip removal rate fertilizing? But, most don't strip till beans, right? So I assume broadcast fertilizer following beans?
