| Back at that time I was young. Local fertilizer dealer would only spray .8 to .9 lbs. of Sencor. I then began to apply herbicides with a 500 gal tank mounted between the hitch and wheels on the Wilrich cultivator. First field I did not allow enough for wheel slip. Applied about 6 pints of sutan instead of five. This was on seed corn. Then grass was the main problem in seed production here. That year the field was clean. These of soils with CEC from 20 to 27....With this learning experience, I increased the Treflan rate to 1.1 quarts and the Sencor rate to 1.1 pounds. For our soils, 10% over the high rate for soil applied herbicides is what was needed to keep fields clean. ....2 passes with field cultivator with second pass perpendicular to the first gave the best results....Vapor pressure of Treflan is not very great, that is why2 passes is much more effective. 2 passes also helps the Sencor too. | |
