North Central Indiana | There are legitimate and long term private concerns with “your land is not yours unless you do with it what we say”
For example, let me use your words. But, I mean, look at things like center pivots and livestock and herbicide and grain facilities. They use water, they’re smelly, they’re dangerous in the eyes of the general public, they’re noisy and dusty.
Are you actively advocating for more regulations for these things? Because you can’t advocate for regulations on what you want and not on what you don’t. That’s my point. It starts with solar, then it goes to data centers, then it goes to “every person that lives along the edge of my field doesn’t like that I use NH3 because they don’t understand it and they voted me down on using it” and then it’s “Facebook told me spraying is bad so I voted to restrict what you can use.” And then it’s “some smart person said organic no-till with cover crops will save the world so that’s what you have to do”
If you don’t believe this kind of thing is in the minds of those living in your small town, county, etc you are sorely mistaken. The only thing the public needs is to see that they can just dictate private practices through voting and you’ll learn just how agriculture is actually viewed. | |
