Subject: Is solar on farm ground really that bad?

Nunn CO
Hello all,
To be clear, I think solar looks absolutely terrible. I suppose the practicality of it is debatable either way.

Above just about all else I'm a huge proponent of private rights, notably land owner rights.

Finally, the largest solar farm in the county is only 5,000 acres and they quickly fall off from there. In the scope of farming that is a tiny little portion of ground. There is roughly 875 million acres of farm land in this country. Even if a TENTH of one precent was solar farms that would be 875,000 acres or the equivalent of 175 of the largest solar farms currently in existence. It just doesn't add up to anything even in the extremes.

Again they look terrible, the finances are questionable, and the practicality is questionable but does any of that really matter? As gov subsidies go its essentially zero, its private land owners choice, and its essentially taking away zero farm ground.

Thoughts?
