Central MN | Is it consistenly over speeding, or erratically up and down?
I bought a used hyd drive and installed it on my planter. Also installed a used Ag Leader hyd seed drive module at the same time. The first 30 acres I planted corn, the population was all over the place, up to 50,000 +. I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I blamed the Ag Leader install, thinking it was faulty equipment or I set it up wrong. I put on the ground drive chains and finished planting.
I ended up going to Precision RowFlow by the next spring. When I was doing the calibration and testing, something was still wrong. I finally ended up buying another used hyd drive, and swapped some of the parts. I found out by elimination that there was a faulty fitting, that isn't listed on the Deere parts diagram. | |
