 East of Broken Bow | Not totally familiar with the 706, but on our 766 and 1066, we just made a new battery box where the old one was on the right. It sticks out a bit if you have an open station, and we normally climb on-off on the left, so I put the group 31 battery on the right so it wouldn't catch your pantleg. It is wider than those 6 vot batteries, but not as long, and not any taller so it wasn't hard to make it fit. I made a new battery tray, and kept the original just in case I ever get a wild hair to make it all 'factory' again but I don't think I ever will. Far too convenient to convert everything over to stud type Group 31 batteries and have one type of battery for everything.
Also, I don't think I ever had the stud type battery connections corrode the way the post style tend to. | |
