Fairfield County, Ohio, USA | We started using NTRIP for boundary marking and experimenting last fall, but then just started using it for RTK w/ SteadySteer this spring. I’ve noticed that we keep losing NTRIP and it falls back to WAAS / StableLoc. If I go to Settings -> NTRIP, it says something to the effect of “invalid credentials”, but if I tap the “Connect” button, it immediately connects and accuracy returns to RTK Fixed. We didn’t experience this at any point when we were doing boundary marking or just experimenting with RTK, but it seems to be happening *frequently* using it for SteadySteer. I suspect that it’s happening whenever the InCommand briefly loses internet connectivity; cell service in my area has gone from “fantastic” to downright horrible in the last month (well, AT&T and Verizon at least; we don’t have a T-Mobile account to try).
We’re using a BR1 Mini (4G LTE) for cell connectivity in the tractor. I’m debating buying the new 5G model, but ugh, that’s a lot of money for something that may or may not ultimately solve the problem (and may not ultimately be necessary, if we upgrade to InCommand Go next year).
Anyone have any advice, other than to not use NTRIP?
