Subject: John Deere Turn Automation

NEND
First of all, the updated software makes turn automation work 100% better than it did last year. Last year it would only make a “P” shaped turn and unless I did three headland passes with my 44’ planter, it wouldn’t have enough room without going outside the boundary to come in nice with the rows. This year I can set it to actually make a lightbulb shaped turn. It works quite well now.

I’m wondering if anyone else has the same opinion as me on the turn size adjustment. I currently have it set to 7 when I’m turning around on two planter passes. 8 doesn’t turn tight enough to stay within my boundary. I’m wondering if anyone is able to use more of the spectrum of the settings. It’s working quite good at 7, but I wish I could go between 7 and 8 as it’s burming the dirt just a bit with the wing tires. I’m nitpicking here, but it seems to me that the numbers (at least for me) below 7 are not relevant. I do three headland passes for soybeans and when I set it on 9, it did a nice wide turn at full speed (I was planting about 6.5mph).
