Indianapolis Indiana | What kind of trucks should I be looking for to haul up to 2500 gallons of fertilizer and or water/chems to applicators? Currently I have a 20,000# geese neck that this year I’m setting up with a 1000 gallon tank and a tote or two. I’m going to see how this year goes and evaluate if another 1000 gallon tank is justified to keep me moving more efficiently.
If I go the 2500 gallon total route, I really don’t want to go as far as a semi with a 9 speed + transmission for sake of my help. I’d really like about the minimum sized truck to tow and most importantly STOP a trailer this heavy. I’d love to find something nimble enough to maybe tow a seed tender in the spring in the field also and take some work off of my truck so it could be used for other odd ball jobs while I’m planting too.
Would love an auto transmission or at the least a single speed manual (no splitter).
What can I find out there in the world I can work around that would be $10,000 range that would be smaller/nimble yet stop something that big? | |
