Yes because today they might eat just grass. Tomorrow they might eat just corn and Wednesday you’ll have a sick or dead heifer.
I might come home to a pile of dead this afternoon but I finish 20 a year and they stand on grass every day until they go on the trailer. I feed them everyday instead of using a creep feeder but I haven’t seen one avoid the bunk of corn and cottonseed even when the ryegrass and clover are belly deep. |
