Subject: Fence building setup. One man show.

Iv got some expired CRP to fence in this spring/summer. Something around 8 miles with all the cross fencing. Iv built a lot of fence in my time but not this large of a project. I’m largely a 1 man show these days. Parents get older and cowboys move on so it’s just me and the dog. I need a way to get this done without killing myself so I was planning on setting corners and then pounding wood posts first. Then coming in with a homade flatbed trailer pulling wire along with it and then having some kind of overhead gas/air T post pounder for the steel posts. My main concern is I Need to figure out a way to hang it up so I can raise and lower it. Would you go gas or air powered pounder?? If I could just get the dog to drive the pickup we would be golden.

I’m curious how some of your fencing setups look like?? If we could do wood posts in 1 go around and then steel and wire in the next that’s fine with me. I’m half tempted not to use wood post and only do steel between corners. Building in NE Colorado in Dryland county
