North Central Iowa | Any reason not to mount a pushbutton style implement switch as sketched on the attached pictures, frame to frame? Switch such as:
https://www.spraypartswarehouse.com/seedcommand/4005070-implement-sw...
When lowering the planter, the pushbutton mounted on the front bar would contact the lower "Y" frame. On the lift and rotate planters, the two frame members are always touching each other when planter is down.
Simplest would be just take an "L" bracket and attach to frame with some self tapping screws. Officially, putting a couple holes in the frame would be discouraged, but in the bottom/middle 1/3 I wouldn't think much stress there; tension mostly in the top when lifting. Could get some big U brackets around the frame tube (same as the row unit attachment) and make a more complicated bracket, but seems super overkill.
Since this location is always together when in planting position, not concerned about row units dropping like when mounting an implement switch to a row unit, how important to use 2 implement switches? I could mount one on each side, if really desirable/recommended. The only reason I see of doing so is redundancy in case 1 switch quits working, but I would never know 1 switch isn't working until they both quit. So seems just as good to keep a spare switch and cable materials on hand.
