NW KS | I would agree that field iq really doesn't care too much how you set things up and there may be multiple solutions that will work for the same problem. I would say a flow meter is more common than a shaft encoder but a piston pump is the exception from what I understand. The flow meter doesn't work as well with the piston pump due to the fluid surge when the piston/pistons start and stop. Since it is a fixed displacement per revolution you are better off using a shaft encoder. All of my liquid setups use a flowmeter but the pumps are hydraulic centrifugal or electric diaphragm. | |
