Appreciate the coments Ray. I think it is all up in the air at this point. Current prices could already have some anticipated shortages built in and with increased acreages and good growing conditions prices today could be opportunity missed by fall. On the other hand if plants get built as fast or even faster than anticipated, exports go crazy (after all with the weak dollar corn isn't priced as high in some foreign markets as it seems here to us) and a few weather problems around the globe and todays hedges might be tomorrows two dollar margin calls. Only thing I know to do is not put all my eggs in one basket - sell a little now, sell a little later in spring, keep some to sell after harvest. Will not hit a home run that way but hopefully will make a profit and stay in business. John |
