Subject: hog farms liquidating in ur areas??

in my area, south central minnesota

one farm that finished 80,000 head of feeder to finish went under last spring barns were rented by the feed company that supplied the pigs "they got stuck with them".
"not sure how long that rental will last..." "Maybe one turn cant see feed company wanting keep owning hogs..."

another one farrow to finish with 1,200 sow went broke 3 weeks ago and is liquidating.

farm with 2,000 head a year feeder to finish empting barns and winterizing them. "same feed company as first one supplied them"

another one about 20,000 feeder to finish per year empting most of their barns and winterizing them. "same feed company as above supplied them"

all with in 15 miles of me.

we have 1,600 sows farrow to finish and are going to keep going to the bloody end.

3 of these guys have call us to see if we wanted to rent their barns.......

What are the rest of u guys seeing in ur areas of the country. Samething? nothing? guys are still going? whats happening out there?

Thanks,
trying to fiqure out if liquadation is really happening out there. "in the country other than here.."
