The inline engines (2.2 or 2.5 depending on years) simple lots of space.
V-6 it’s tighter. Spark plugs are easier with a long extension and swivel through the wheel well. Put a clutch in mine in a shop with a lift, no body jacking needed. Mine didn’t have A/C so that made things a bit less cramped underhood as well. Still more under hood room than some of the newer trucks.
