Northern Central Iowa | Not sure if I can describe this clearly.
I made one where the forks are over the top of the head completely.
They pass through rectangle tubing so it is easy to remove.
Welded and braced to the tubing right next to the mast, there are 2 vertical tubes around 6 feet tall with some cross braces that rub on the forklift mast.
About half way down these tubes, underneath the forks, there are 2 short L shape arms pointing forward that stick into the opening of the head and catch the head as you raise the forks up.
This works well but my 5000 lift forklift is still maxed out with a 6 row corn head even with the back of the head within inches of the mast.
I have lifted an 8 row chopping head with this using a big wheel loader with forks. | |
