Northeast ND		I lost 1st gear in a 2588 one year doing edible beans. Ran the rest of the fall in 2nd gear and tackled it in the winter. If I recall correctly, I didn't replace very many parts in the end. Worn detent components were the culprit.

I believe it is the same gearbox.
