| I was low on beef, had some kill slots for early September, but nothing ready or even on feed. 3 weeks before my slot date wife had to buy burger at the store and said oh no I’m not eating this you better come up with something.
So I caught the biggest steer off Klein grass pasture and put him on some Bermuda hay I strategically baled very young for this purpose. And fed him about 15# of corn a day for I think it was 17 days.
The guy weighed 940 at a scale half a mile down the road and dressed 58% without shrink.

I’m totally shocked he is good. I was worried about him behind gamey or super lean. I know it’s not fantastic or anything, but I’m pretty shocked this worked out fine.
