Did you get any useful information back from SNIP? If you are able to establish a connection I can't hardly see it being an issue with DDNS or port forwarding. If either one of those are acting up you won't get a connection at all. SNIP, Windows, and the connection between the PC and base would be where I would be looking. That may not narrow it down that much through.
