The WRT54GS will work. The WRT54GL can be found at Buy.com right now for $38.

No I didn't use pigtails. Just ordered the cables premade from sharper concepts. YSC-CA4NMRTFXXX is the cable that I used. I think the end on the cable is considered the male end.

I really don't know anything about the Airlink products. I think the aluminium siding would be the killer. Other wise it might work.
