Have a buddy that is also a seed salesman. From what he tells me it’s very expensive to do with cost of rental and AV gas fuel charges. Then once you get to the hangar probably have to pay some storage fees for the time you are away. Just a rough guess but expect 750-1500 every time you take a trip even if just for 2 days. I think I’d go talk to some instructors or flight schools and rental places before you get too far into it and see if it’s something you can swing. Life insurance may be another factor you need to consider as well. Could be some clauses in policies that limit coverage with private pilot licenses or rental aircraft. Just some things to consider. Could buy a lot of fuel or gas for what it costs to get there in half the time.

I've had a pilot's license for almost 45 years. It's not something you do to make travel cheaper or easier, because it's not. You'll either have to rent or borrow a vehicle anywhere you go. The only reason to do it is for the love of flying.
If you want convenience, I'd stick to commercial air travel.
