southern MN | As an 'old computer' that would be the best way to get a good setup again. Will clean up all the stray visrus, bad files, bad links, etc that accumulate on the computer over the years.
Be sure you have all your install disks, and the codes you need to activate Windows, Works, etc if needed.
Some computers come with a startup disk that you boot off of, & it will format & reinstall everything back to the day you bought it. Fairly straight forward.
Others you have a regular Windows CD, which you do the same basic thing with, and then you need to intall the various drivers & software packages individually.
Either way, sounds more scary than it is. :)
