| We have had a problem with supposed clean clothes smelling wierd at times. Usually it is shirts that I worked up a severe sweat in, but I have also noticed that dish towels sometimes are a problem. The odor usually manifests itself in collars and pockets of jeans. I'm thinking the problem is two-fold. First, if the article of clothing is placed in a hamper wet or damp it multiplies the problem, even for one day. Second, we have found that hard water is a real problem when it comes to cleaning clothes. When the salt is out of the softener here, it makes everything tougher to clean.
Check your water, and don't let wet clothes sit in a hamper.
