Saw the same thing here. Tried to vacuum seal some fresh caught fish a friend gave me and even on the moist food setting it drew too much moisture out of the fish and bag which prevented it from getting a good melted seal. Ended up laying the pieces of fish on a cookie sheet and quick freezing them then packed them in the bag and vacuum sealed them that seemed to work just fine. Even tried cutting longer bags thinking that would help but the juices were still drawn to the mouth of the bag and interfered with the melting/sealing process. Instructions say you are supposed to be able to seal soup in bags but I don't see any way to prevent the moisture interfering with the sealing process. Guess you could get some of their resealable plastic containers and use the hose port attachment to seal individual meals in the hard plastic containers. |
