I use Quickbooks Pro. It does all I need to do my taxes and give me a good balance sheet (almost). I end up doing a grain inventory sheet in Excel and basically have just a single line that is added to the balance sheet assets for completion. I use some spreadsheets that North Dakota State University extension have come up with for more detailed enterprise analysis. Excel is like an adding machine for me, I will make up just a simple spreadsheet for just about anything. (I use a Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC with Excel on it so that is also why) Payroll is easy and cheap to do if you don't need to get too fancy. I use the calculator to figure out SS, Med and federal deductions. QB wants you to pay for those extra services but you can bypass and get them done. Makes payroll liabilities checks easy to print also. I use QB for my church that I am treasurer for also. If you were looking for field record keeping, I would suggest Farmworks. That has worked well for me. |
