The only problem with sharing with your parents is the internet co isn't happy about it so you might not wish to mention that part. And you might only get one email account, so the other one will need to use Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, etc.
Everything you mention will work out just fine, no problems. Your router becomes the one internet connection point, and actually is the 'computer' hooked to the internet. The router then sets up a second, tiny, independent (be sure to set up security & firewall & so on to keep it independent!), network among your various computers, and funnels all of those into the one internet connection. That router can also allow you to share printers, share files, and so on.
