| When I got married to my husband I was intimidated by all that his mom did. The house was clean, she did laundry every day (never dirty clothes anywhere), cooked good meals, she did all the calf chores was always really organized and always seem to have tons of energy. I tried to do my best to keep up but I also had little kids right a way and worked part time in town. I found that I helped out in areas that she didn't do, like I would go out to the field and do field work, drive grain cart and did my best to help where anybody needed help. You have to be yourself and you will find out what you are good at on the operation and be the person that you are.
Don't try and be your mother in law be yourself and if your soon to be husband gives you support and suggestions what would be good for you to be part of the operation it won't be long and you will find your place.
Good Luck!!
P.S We lived on the same acerage with them for a few years | |
