Saronville, NE | I used to babysit a lot in high school...that was in the early 90's...I left it up to the parents of the kids I babysat what to pay me, and I always felt they were fair, and my services were always in demand. I just went back to work last week after having a baby in June, and the gal doing home daycare for us is charging $18 a day (daughter will be there ~10 1/2 hrs/day by the time I drop off and pick up), and this is a licensed daycare! New licensed childcare centers I checked with are charging ~$108-120/week...and I went back only 3 days per week (I know that teenage babysitting and a licensed center is not comparing apples to apples, but I thought it was interesting). A sitter who has attended a first-aid class and/or CPR class would make me feel as a parent that I was trusting my child with someone better qualified, JMO. | |
