Kansas | Yesterday I received a message on my screen that indicated it was from Microsoft. It stated that my computer had been corrupted by a virus and that I should not attempt to shut it off but simply call the 800 number that was provided. I called my computer store and they soon said it is a SCAM. Just shut the computer off, wait a couple minutes and turn back on. It was exactly what the message was telling me not to do. It was a simple fix. I believe they were wanting all kinds of information from me, especially bank, cc etc.
I thought this might help to save someone else a headache in the future. | |
