Subject: RE: Update

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
This happens fairly often when folks switch from using a Raven system to another brand such as Ag Leader. This is because Raven decided years ago to use a factor of 10 for their meter cals with their first controller the SCS-400. The SCS-400 did not have a decimal point on its keypad so using a meter cal for 10 units (gallons etc.) allowed the operator to enter in a larger number thus allowing more resolution or fine tuning.

Raven has continued that practice. Ag Leader decided to go with a meter cal for 1 unit.

The screen where the meter cal is entered does mention that the meter cal should be for 1 unit. All spray monitor and controller systems divide by the cal number to convert the pulses from the flow meter to useful units such as gallons so your totals should have only shown 1/10 of what they really were.

This is why the system was working so hard to try to open the valve more since it did not feel it was delivering the target rate.
