Subject: RE: Crop and field management software

Glad to answer any questions.

The features of Parcel can be split in two parts: First, we have a lot of capabilities that are just around the day to day management of farming. This includes the ability to map your fields, capture all the details about the crop planted, creating crop plans and assigning work orders. It also allows you to track all your equipment, and assign maintenance work orders as well. Like any good farming software, we support use via web and mobile (even offline). We also support working via email or text messaging if the operator doesn't want to log in. We just added NDVI imagery so you can view crop vigor on your fields as well.

The second set of features of Parcel are focused on supporting the larger ecosystem farmers work in. We felt growers need tools not only internally for employees, but also to work with your agronomist, hauling providers, etc. For example, we have a hauling reservation system where you can send reservation requests to your carriers and they can confirm the loads so everyone stays on the same page. They get a map of the field along with entrance points and parking locations so they know where to send the driver. Same is true for recommendations. If you partner with an agronomist, they can make recommendations to you from their account, and you can accept / assign them as work orders in your account. There are chat capabilities so that you can communicate with your partners through the app (either by logging in to the app, or via text message if you want).

There is a chicken and egg facet to the second set of features, where you need the partners you work with on the platform as well. We started by working with vendors who supply products across the US and Canada, but the real value comes when growers invite their local vendors to join as well. We don't charge growers anything for the software. Vendors join free as well, Parcel gets paid a commission from the vendors when they sell something through our software. Because its hosted, we can do this really inexpensively (for example, it's about $6 per load for a hauling reservation).

We are currently working on bringing in input retailers and equipment dealers so you will be able to buy parts and fertilizer online as well.

Since you specifically asked about production grain farming, the only feature that will be of less use is our produce sales component. We have a lot of vineyard customers and help them track orders and market them through a grape marketplace. It could be adapted to grain marketing, but we felt there were good tools for that already and didn't want to reinvent the wheel.

All the capabilities are driven by requests from our customers. If you see things you want in the product, we'd love to help out. The goal is to be a product people are actually excited to use.

Come check it out at parcel.ag we'd love to be of service!
